Blazers Suffer Setback At Home Against Gordon

Chicopee, Ma – The Elms College Women's Lacrosse team suffered a setback at the hands of the visiting Gordon College Fighting Scots 20-11 on Monday afternoon.

The Blazers were able to get out to a quick start taking a 4-1 lead behind goals from Reilly Jodoin (South Hadley, MA) and Vanessa Vurno (Salem, CT) and would hold a slim lead going into the break.

The Fighting Scots started the second half with eight consecutive goals to take their first lead of the game and put some distance between themselves and the Blazers. Olivia McCarrick was huge all game for Gordon and finished with seven goals on 16 shots. The Blazers would mount a comeback behind a four- goal effort from Haley Richard (Monson, MA) but would fall short, losing the game 20-11.

Emily Huber (Jefferson, ME) was very strong between the pipes registering 20 saves but would take the loss.

The Blazers are back in action on Sunday when they travel north to Maine-Farmington for a non-conference game at 12 p.m.
