Softball Swept on Day Two of Florida Trip
Fort Myers, FL – The Elms College softball team dropped both game of a doubleheader on day two of their Florida trip. The Blazers fell to Anna Maria College (21-7) in game one, and last (25-0) to RIT.
Game One – Elms 7, Anna Maria 21
The Blazers found themselves in a (17-0) hole after the top of the fourth inning. The Amcats extended their lead to (21-1) after batting in the top of the fifth. Elms had its best offensive inning of the trip in the bottom of the fifth, plating six runs. Tyla Risucci (Watertown, CT) had two hits for the Blazers, Nicole Defeo (Watertown, CT), Katelyn Sylvia (Southwick, MA), Kayla Beaulieu (Bristol, CT), and Sofie Oliveira (Windsor Locks, CT) each added a hit in the game.
Game Two - Elms 0, RIT 25
Elms found themselves in an early hole again in game two. RIT scored 11 times in the first inning, and never looked back. The Tigers added runs in each of the next three frames in the five inning game. The Blazers only hit came off the bat of Katelyn Sylvia (Southwick, MA).
