Softball Has Six Selected To NECC All-Conference Team

MARSHFIELD, MA – The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) announced its 2019 Softball All-Conference teams and major award winners on Tuesday morning. The awards were voted on by the conference's nine coaches following the conclusion of the regular season.

The Blazers had six players placed on the All-Conference Team for their contributions during the 2019 season. Katelyn Sylvia (Southwick, MA), Madison Messier (Warren, MA) and Cat Wrang were all selected to the second team.

Sylvia batted .395 with 28 RBI's and a .658 slugging percentage. Messier batted .330 with 26 RBI's and a .429 slugging percentage. Wrang batted .299 with 9 RBI's and a .351 slugging percentage.

Lisa Lusardi (Enfield, CT), Kayla Doherty (Plaistow, NH) moth made third team and Shelby Brouillette (Springfield) is the team representative on the sportsmanship team.

Lusardi was big for the Blazers at the plate as well as on the mound. She batted .337 with 22 RBI's and a slugging percentage of .435. On the mound she pitched 123 innings striking out 72 batters with a 4.84 ERA. Doherty batted .270 with 8 RBI's and a conference slugging percentage of .396.
