Softball Loses Both Ends Of Home Doubleheader With Nichols

Game 1 – Nichols 4, Elms 0

Game one was tight throughout and saw great defensive play from both teams. Things remained scoreless until the top of the 5th when Talylor Commesso stepped into the batters box and gave Nichols a one run lead with a solo homerun over the left field fence. The Bison would come right back in the top of the 6th and put up a crooked number securing the 4-0 win.

Elms had a difficult time figuring out Nichols pitcher Alexis Ferris on her way to the win.

Tyla Risucci (Watertown, CT), Lisa Lusardi (Enfield, CT), Cat Wrang (Middletown, CT) and Kayla Doherty (Plaistow, NH) all had hits in the game.

Lusardi would take the loss for the Blazers.

Game 2 – Nichols 9, Elms 1

Game two saw the Nichols bats get hot and put up runs in four of the five innings played. The Bison jumped out front 2-0 in the top of the 1st. The Blazers would answer with a run in the bottom of the 2nd inning when Emily Dorosh (Litchfield, CT) doubled in Lisa Lusardi (Enfield, CT). Nichols would have an answer of their own and put up back to back three spots in the 3rd and 4th innings eventually taking the 5 inning game 9-1.

Sofie Oliveira would take the loss for the Blazers.

Elms will host doubleheader with Bay Path on Saturday at 2 p.m. and 4p.m.
