Softball Splits Doubleheader With Regis

Weston, MA - In their first action since returning from Florida, the Elms College Softball Team traveled to Regis College for a doubleheader.

Game 1: Elms 9, Regis 4

The first game of the day saw Elms strike first in the third inning when their bats would explode bringing in six runs. The big hit was a bases loaded triple by Madison Messier (Warren, Mass.). Lisa Lusardi (Enfield, CT) would then single down the left field line bringing Messier home from third.

That would be all the runs the Blazers would need as Lisa Lusardi (Enfield, CT) would keep the Pride bats quite all game, scattering 9 hits and 4 runs. Raeanna Tumel (Stafford, CT) would come in and finish off the Pride and would pick up the save for Elms.

Game 2: Regis 5, Elms 1

After being kept off the scoreboard through four innings, the Pride bats came to life in the fifth, bringing home three to help secure the victory in game two of their doubleheader.

Madi McLellan was tough on the mound for the Pride and kept the Blazers bats at bay. Elms was only able to pick up 4 hits and 1 run in the game and would eventually take the loss 5-1.

Raeanna Tumel (Stafford, CT) would be the losing pitcher on record for the Blazers.

Elms is back in action on Thursday when they travel to St Joseph (CT) for a non-conference double header. First pitch is at 3 p.m.
