Blazers Close Out 2019 Schedule at Regis Invitational

Wellesley, MA - The Blazer swim teams closed out the first semester with the Regis Invitational on Sunday 12/8/19. Both the Women's and Men's teams swam strong in the all-day, dual session meet. Many swam to season best times, with some achieving lifetime bests at the meet. 

The Women started off the meet strong with a season best time in the 200 Freestyle Relay. The event was highlighted by season best splits by Brittany North and Kelly Scianna in a 26.91 and 27.57 respectively. Just two events later, Brittany North swam to a lifetime best in the 100 Fly with a 1:05.90, just .01 off the school record, shaving over 1.5 seconds off her previous best time.

The Men started the meet with two season best splits in the 200 Free Relay from Chris Sisco and Nick Taylor with a 30.83 and 24.83 respectively. 

Cricket Cavar and Eddie Helldorfer joined in on the strong start to the meet with season best times. Cricket swam to a 6:07.06 in the 500 Free, While Eddie swam to a 59.79 in the 100 Fly. Victoria Wanko also Swam to a season best in the 100 Fly in a 1:22.37. Kelly Scianna, Brittany North and Nora Newman continued the streak of season best times. Brittany and Kelly in the 200 Backstroke, swimming 2:25.92 and 2:28.40 respectively. Nora dropped over 4 seconds in the 50 Breaststroke, touching the wall in 45.49.

The 50 Freestyle saw a host of season best times from the Blazers. Ashley Cronkhite- 29.28, Keiry Marquez- 34.55, Michael Losardo- 25.64, Nick Taylor- 25.81, Chris Sisco- 31.12, Jacob Connolly- 31.44. The best times did not stop at the 50 Free, as the next event, the 200 Breast saw Cricket Cavar- 3:10.61, Hope Daley- 3:32.55 and Jacob Connolly- 3:06.22. Nick Taylor scored another season best time in the 50 Backstroke stopping the clock in 31.21 Brittany North wrapped up the morning session with another season best in the 200IM, swimming a 2:29.80.

Three Blazers won events in the first session. Paul Ferarro took home the gold in the 200 Backstroke, while Brittany North and Eddie Helldorfer won the 100 Fly.

After the break, the Blazers returned to the water for their final events of the day. The 50 Fly again saw a healthy amount of season best times for the Blazers. Brittany North- 29.56, Eddie Helldorfer- 25.32, Michael Losardo- 28.59, and Ryan Nodell- 29.71. Julianne Gordon continued the season bests for the Blazers, swimming a 2:18.27 in the 200 Free. 

The Blazers closed out the meet with even more season best times. Brittany North: 100 Free - 1:01.22, and 100 Back lifetime best - 1:07.67. Chris Sisco: 100 Free -1:11.36 and 100 Breast - 1:27.79. Jacob Connolly: 100 Breast - 1:23.32.

The Blazers return to action at home on January 8th at 4:00pm against Western New England University.
