North Breaks Two Program Records At Regis Invitational

The Elms College men's swim team finished second out of three teams and the Blazer women finished third out of three at the Regis Swimming and Diving Invitational on Saturday. The Elms men (115) finished behind host Regis (204) and ahead of Husson (102) while the Blazer women (78) were behind Regis (274) and Husson (99).

Brittany North broke two progam records to lead the Blazer women. North finished second in the 400-yard individual medley in 5:07.75, breaking her own program record from last season. She also broke the program record with a time of 2:31.99 in the 200-yard butterfly, earning a second-place finish. Kelly Scianna was victorious in the 200-yard backstroke, finishing in 2:27.23. Scianna and North led Elms in the women's 200-yard IM. North finished first in 2:26.49 and Scianna took third in 2:31.59.

Elms took the top two spots in the men's 100-yard butterfly, as Eddie Capoldo won the event in 58.63, comfortably ahead of Nick Taylor (1:03.57). The Blazers also owned two of the top three spots in the men's 100-yard individual medley. Matthew Nodell finished second (1:07.40) and Patrick Gay took third (1:09.05).

The Blazers return to action on Jan. 5 at Bridgewater State.
