North's School Record Highlights Day 3 Of NEISDA Championships

KINGSTON, R.I.  – The Elms College men's swim team moved into eighth place and the women moved into 18th after day three of the four-day New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) Championships on Saturday.

Freshman Brittany North broke the Elms school record in the women's 400 IM qualifying round with a time of 5:12.83 to reach the finals where she finished 15th.

The Blazer men finished sixth in the 200 medley relay to pick up 26 points as Michael Grippo, Eddie Capoldo, Nick Bergstrom and Matt Nodel finished with a time of 1:44.55.

Nodell grabbed four more points for the Elms men with a 13th place finish in the 400 IM. Bergstrom finished tied for 10th in the 50 butterfly finals (24.57), just ahead of Capoldo, who finished 12th (25.16). Grippo reached the finals and finished seventh in the 100 backstroke with a time of 56.64 to snag 12 points for Elms.

Through three days, the Blazer women are in 18th in the 20-team field with 87 points. Meanwhile, the Elms men have 124.5 points, good for eighth in the 12-team field.
