Blazers Continue NEISDA Championships

KINGSTON, R.I. -- The Elms College men's and women's swimming teams continued competition at the NEISDA Championships on Friday with the men finishing the day in ninth out of 12 teams and the women in 18th out of 20 teams.

Blazer men Nick Bergstrom, Michael Grippo, Eddie Capoldo and Matt Nodell finished sixth in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:32.65 to secure the top Elms finish of the day. Capoldo also picked up a ninth-place finish in the 50-yard breaststroke (30.11) on Friday.

Nodell, Josh Guntly and Paul Ferraro all reached the finals in the 200-yard backstroke where they combined to pick up seven points for Elms. Nodell finished 13th (2:18.44), Guntly placed 15th (2:28.70) and Ferraro was 16th (2:32.68).

Brittany North reached the finals and picked up 11 points for Elms with a 16th-place finish in the women's 200-yard backstroke.

The NEISDA Championships continue all day on Saturday and wrap up on Sunday.
