Women's Cross Country Sweeps NECC Weekly Awards

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – The Elms College women's cross country team claimed both New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Women's Cross Country Weekly awards, in a release from the league office Monday afternoon. Senior Sarah Tatgenhorst (Winterport, Maine) nabbed her second career Runner of the Week honor, while freshman Julia Trezza (Wilbraham, Mass.) earned her first Rookie of the Week award.

Tatgenhorst placed second overall in the Mitchell College Invitational with a time of 21:16, which was less than two seconds behind the leader. Trezza posted a top-10 finish in her first career collegiate race at the Mitchell College Invitational, Trezza placed ninth overall with a time of 23:43, helping lead the Blazers to a second place finish.

The Blazers will be back on the course when they host the 2017 Blazer Invitational Saturday at Chicopee State Park.
