Cross Country Competes at James Earley Invitational

WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Elms College men's and women's cross country squads combined to set ten season-best marks while competing at the 20th annual James Earley Invitational, hosted by Westfield State University, at Stanley Park Saturday afternoon.

On the men's side, freshman Keith Brown (Hartford, Conn.) set a school record with a time of 28:51.62 to finish at 122nd overall. Senior Adam Kuzdzal (Chicopee, Mass.) posted a time of 30:58.12 for 241nd place, while freshman Weston Asselin (Agawam, Mass.) was right behind him in 252nd (31:26.06). Freshman Nic Kane (Uncasville, Conn.) took 304th at 33:39.61, followed by junior Joshua Diaz Rolon (Chicopee, Mass.; 34:03.25) at 311th to round out the Blazers men's draw.

For the women, sophomore Sarah Tatgenhorst (Winterport, Maine) finished 113th overall with a time of 21:14.58. Senior Emma Bernard (Springfield, Mass.) took 259th at 23:17.96, while sophomore Sarah Kaczenski (Northfield, Mass.) checked in at 276th with a time of 23:37.75. Sophomore Caitlyn Hoschtetler (South Hadley, Mass.) claimed 329th at 25:09.35, followed by senior Jacqueline Quetti (Pittsfield, Mass.) at 331st with a time of 25:11.86. Freshman Molly Coakley (Acton, Mass.) came in at 399th in her collegiate debut with a time of 32:22.00.

The Blazers will return to action with a trip to the Connecticut College Invitational next Saturday in Waterford, Connecticut.
