How it Happened

The score went back and forth in the first set, as neither the Blazers or the Owls were willing to give up a big lead. Elms went up 7-5 early, and looked like they were going to go on a run and get the first set. However, a couple late point runs by Westfield State added up to put them in front at the end. Elms was too late with a run of their own at the end of the first set, and Westfield State won the first set 25-15.

In the beginning of the second set, the Blazers were overwhelmed early by the Owls, falling behind 19-12 at one point. Right when it looked like the Owls were going to close out the set, the Blazers came firing back to take the lead. In an exciting finish to the set, the Blazers came out with the win.

In the final two sets, the Blazers started off strong, taking the lead. However, in both sets, the Owls came back to take the lead. This resulted in Westfield State winning both sets, 28-26 and 25-15.
