Women’s Volleyball Picks Up NECC Win Over Becker

Chicopee, MA – The Elms College women's volleyball team defeated the visiting Becker College Hawks on Saturday morning 3-1 (25-17, 25-12, 17-25, 25-7). With the win the Blazers improves to 8-7 overall and 1-1 in conference.

The Blazers got off to a fast start dominating the first two sets. Elms would put up impressive kill percentages in both sets, hitting .297 in the first and .306 in the second.

The Hawks would battle back and take the third set from the Blazers 17-25.

The Fourth set would see the Blazers take full control of the match. Elms would lead from start to finish and take the set 25-7, and the match 3-1.

Jaylianne Ramos (Toa Alta, P.R.) would produce another double-double with 12 kills and 10 digs. Kianna Lozada (Bayamon, P.R.) led the Blazers with 30 digs, Dakota Stewart (Victoria, TX) would tally 29 assists. Ayanna Meadows (Springfield, MA) would also have a big match with eight kills and 13 digs.

The Blazers are back in action on Thursday 10/10 when they travel to Worcester State University at 7:00Pm for a non-conference match.
