Volleyball Extends Win Streak To Five With Sweep Of Becker

CHICOPEE, Mass. – The Elms College women's volleyball team extended its winning streak to five matches with a 3-0 New England Collegiate Conference win over Becker on Tuesday night.

Elms (11-3, 3-0 NECC) won 25-20, 25-16, 25-21 for its sixth 3-0 sweep of the season. Dakota Stewart (Victoria, Texas) had 29 assists to pace the Blazer offense and added 11 digs and two aces. Danielle Redding (Las Vegas, Nev.) had a match-high 15 kills to go with 11 digs while Sabrina Christie (Agawam, Mass.) had six kills and Ayanna Meadows (Springfield, Mass.) and Hayley Castanos (Santa Ana, Calif.) finished with five each. Kianna Lozada (Bayamon, P.R.) racked up a match-high 33 digs.

Morgan Gould (North Attleboro, Mass.) had nine kills and 11 digs for Becker (5-6, 0-2 NECC) while Sofia Cullina (Deep River, Conn.) added seven kills and 21 digs. Olivia McGuinness (Colchester, Conn.) dished out all 28 Becker assists.

The Blazers out-hit the Hawks .140-.076 and had a 13-8 advantage in service aces.

The Blazers will have the opportunity to match their season-long win streak when they go for their sixth consecutive won on Oct. 6 at New England College at 1:00 p.m. Becker will be home to face Worcester State on Thursday.
