Arbo, Dudunake Garner GNAC Weekly Honors
CHICOPEE, Mass. – Elms College sophomore
Ashley Arbo (Kensington, Conn.) and freshman
Tessa Dudunake (Northampton, Mass.) swept the
Great Northeast Athletic Conference’s (GNAC) weekly swimming
awards for the week of Dec. 7-13 as announced by the organization
on Tuesday.
Arbo, who was named GNAC Swimmer of the Week, clocked a top time in
the 100-yard freestyle (58.36) and a third place finish in the
500-yard freestyle (5:53.51) - both for new school records. Arbo
also added a victory in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of
30.22, scoring a total of 21 points for the meet. This is
Arbo’s second swimmer of the week award this season.
Dudunake was named GNAC Rookie of the Week as Elms' top performer
against UMass-Dartmouth, adding a trio of top finishes to help pace
the Blazers in the meet. Dudunake recorded winning times in the
50-yard breaststroke (33.87), the 100-yard breaststroke (1:13.06)
100-yard individual medley (1:06.87). This is also the second time
Dudunake has received rookie of the week accolades so far this
season.
