CHICOPEE, MA., Jan. 23, 2007 - Elms College sophomore Liz Walker (Holyoke, MA) and senior Kaity Jo Bryll (East Hartland, CT) both won multiple individual events, but Western New England College ultimately earned a 121-112 victory in Wednesday night's women's swimming dual-meet at Partyka Natatorium.

With the victory Western New England College improves to a record of 5-6 on the season while Elms College drops to a mark of 4-7. 

Walker clocked winning times in the 200 meter individual medley (2:45.69), the 100-meter breaststroke (1:24.37), and the 200-meter breaststroke (3:02.23).  Bryll captured victories in the 50-meter freestyle (31.32) and the 100-meter freestyle (1:07.27).

The Golden Bears were lead by freshman Aimee Smachetti (Bristol, CT), who recorded first place finishes in both the 200-meter butterfly (2:48.01) and the 50-meter butterfly (32.24).  In addition to her individual wins, Smachetti also contributed to the Western New England College victory in the 400-meter medley relay (5:10.09).

Elms College returns to non-conference action Saturday, January 26 at Norwich with Gordon.  The tri-match is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
