WOMEN'S SWIMMING DEFEATS MOUNT. ST. MARY 150-88
CHICOPEE, MA, Jan. 13, 2007 - Elms College freshman Marie Waterhouse (East Longmeadow, MA) set a pair of school records to lead the Blazers to a 150-88 win over Mount. St. Mary in Saturday afternoon's women's swimming meet at Partyka Natatorium.
The Blazers improved to 3-5 overall while Mount St. Mary fell to 3-5 overall
Waterhouse set records in the 400-meter freestyle with a time of 5:15.89, and the 800-meter freestyle posting a time of 10:57.13. Waterhouse also teamed with freshman Elizabeth Walker (Holyoke, MA), junior Kaity Jo Bryll (East Hartland, CT) and sophomore Katelyn Wasgatt (Worcester, MA) in the 400-meter freestyle to set a school record of 4:43.44.
Walker set a school record in the 200-meter freestyle recording a time of 2:25.31, and earned a first place finish in both the 50-meter freestyle (31.29) and the 100-meter breaststroke (1:21.51).
The Blazers return to action Tuesday January 16 when they host UMass-Dartmouth. Meet time is set for 6:00 p.m. at Partyka Natatorium.
