Women’s Soccer Closes Out regular Season With Win At Bay Path

Longmeadow, MA – The Elms College women's soccer team won 2-0 on the road at Bay Path University on Wednesday evening. The win puts the Blazers at 10-7-2 overall and 5-1-1 in conference play, the win also secures the second seed for Elms, and gives them a bye to the conference semi-finals.

The Blazers got off to a slow start with the Wildcats controlling the play and getting several quality chances, the best coming in the 12th minute when a shot was fired over an empty Blazer goal from only 10 yards out. Elms would settle in and start to take over position and produce scoring chances. The Blazers would capitalize on an opportunity in the 40th minute when Haley Richard (Monson, MA) would send a cross into Jordan Bailey (Monson, MA) who would hit a perfect volley into the back of the Wildcat net, giving Elms a 1-0 lead heading into the half.

Elms wouldn't wait long to extend the lead. Richard would provide another quality cross into the box, this time Morgan Foucault (Putnam, CT) would be on the receiving end and place a shot into the right side netting, extending the lead to 2-0.

The Blazers would keep Bay Path from getting any chances for the remainder of the game and take the 2-0 victory.

Becca Molin (West Hartford, MA) would make 6 saves and register the shutout.

Elms will await the winner of the first round playoff game between New England College and Bay Path University to see who their opponent will be on Wednesday 11/6 at 7PM in the conference semi-final game.
