BANGOR, Maine – The Elms College women's soccer team was locked in an intense battle with Husson for more than 70 minutes on Saturday afternoon until an onslaught of offense in less than a four-minute span put the game decidedly in the Blazers favor. With three goals in 3:41 the Blazers secured a 4-1 victory.

Husson (0-2) got on the board first with a seventh-minute goal from Joan Overman. The score remained 1-0 for most of the first half until Jaime Cerrato got the equalizer for Elms (2-1-1) with assists from Olivia Denkiewicz (South Deerfield, Mass.) and Paige Silva (Swansea, Mass.).

With the scored still knotted at 1-1, Alizaya Clark (Springfield, Mass.) scored the 70:22 mark to put Elms ahead 2-1. Shannon Denault (Chicopee, Mass.) followed with another goal at the 72:02 mark and added her second goal of the game two minutes later to give the Blazers the 4-1 advantage.

The Blazers held an 11-7 lead in shots in the game including 9-4 in shots on-goal. Elms also owned a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks after attempting eight in the first half. Rebecca Molin (West Hartford, Conn.) came up with three saves in net for Elms.
