Elms Places 24 Student-Athletes On NECC Fall Academic All-Conference Team

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Elms College placed 24 student-athletes on the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Academic All-Conference honor roll, announced by the conference office Wednesday. A total of 196 student-athletes have been named to the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Academic All-Conference team for the 2016 fall semester. To be eligible for the NECC Academic All-Conference, a student-athlete must post a minimum grade point average of 3.40 on a scale of 4.00 and must be a sophomore or higher in class standings. Student-athletes who competed in Men's and Women's Cross Country, Men's Golf, Field Hockey, Men's and Women's Soccer, Women's Tennis and Women's Volleyball were eligible for fall NECC academic honors.

Women's Soccer led the way for the Blazers fall squads with nine representatives, seniors Rachel Connell (Easthampton, Mass.), Meeghan O'Connor (Fall River, Mass.), and Kathleen Tuechler (Farmingdale, N.Y.); juniors Madison Jung (Stafford Springs, Conn.), Jackie Soucia (Belchertown, Mass.), Silvana Tellerico (Southington, Conn.), Lexi Vieira (Warren, R.I.) and Brie Voight (Springfield, Mass.); and sophomore Danielle Asklar (Berlin, Conn.).

Men's Soccer registered eight student-athletes on the list in seniors Scott Labrie (Southampton, Mass.) and Michael Lorenzi (Somers, Conn.); juniors C.J. Dabkowski (Bristol, Conn.), Michael DiPasquale (Meriden, Conn.) and Justin Kassouf (Milford, Conn.); and sophomores Zachary DiNoto (Branford, Conn.), Kyle O'Brien (Hebron, Conn.) and Anthony Romei (Enfield, Conn.).

Women's Cross Country, Women's Volleyball and Field Hockey each placed two student-athletes on the Academic All-Conference list. Seniors Stephanie Esposito (Orange, Conn.) and Marie Lafortune (Southwick, Mass.) represented Field Hockey, while seniors Carolyn Campbell (Turners Falls, Mass.) and Alicia Beaupre (Belchertown, Mass.) represented Women's Volleyball. Juniors Sarah Tatgenhorst (Winterport, Maine) and Sarah Kaczenski (Northfield, Mass.) represented Women's Cross Country. Sophomore Chris Soderberg (Northampton, Mass.) was the lone representative of the Men's Golf team.
