BOSTON, Mass. -- The Wheelock College women's soccer team dropped a 6-1, conference decision to the visiting Blazers of Elms College this afternoon at Winsor Field.

The Wildcats were led by senior defender Courtney Adams (Holliston, Mass.), who scored the squad's only goal of the day on a direct kick, tying the score at 25:36.

Elms sophomore Brie Voight (Springfield, Mass.) put the first on the board for the Blazers in the 15th minute, prior to the Adams marker, and deposited another to close out the period with a 2-1, Blazers halftime lead. With the two goals, Voight set the Elms single-season record for points (40), besting the previous mark (39) set by Jennifer Killion in 2010.

To start the second half, unassisted goals from Elms senior Rachel Mick (Granby, Mass.) and sophomore Mackenzie LaRochelle (Chicopee, Mass.) would double the Elms tally to four before the 58th minute of the contest.

The help on the next Blazers goal was credited to Mick, when she dished the ball to junior Jackie Soucia (Belchertown, Mass.) at 61:21 for a 5-1 lead.

Freshman Haley Richard (Monson, Mass.) netted the final goal of the day on a corner kick at 80:58, and the final score of the contest would end up at 6-1.

Voight led all players with four points, a product of that pair of first-half goals. Senior keeper Erin Rice (Windsor, Vt.)recorded six saves in the loss, while freshman Rebecca Molin (West Hartford, Conn.) took the win.

Wheelock finishes up their 2016 campaign on Wednesday, October 26 at Mitchell College. Elms will play their final regular season match on October 26 at Daniel Webster.
