ATTLEBORO, MA – Elms College placed four
players on the 2009 All-New England Collegiate Conference (NECC)
women’s soccer team, including three first team
selections.
Senior forward Krystyna Gagne (Methuen, MA),
junior midfielder Alison Couture (Chicopee, MA)
and senior defender Justine Pereira (Ludlow, MA)
were each named First Team All-NECC.
Gagne led the Blazers with 15 goals during the 2009 season and
added five assists (35 points) helping Elms to the second seed in
the 2009 NECC Championship tournament. Couture was second on the
team in scoring with seven goals, five of which came during league
action. Pereira anchored the Blazers’ defensive third of the
field, helping Elms secure six shutout victories on the season.
Freshman goalkeeper Molly Corse (Bernardston, MA)
was named All-NECC Honorable Mention. The first-year net-minder
collected 131 saves and posted seven shutouts, five against
conference competition, guiding the Blazers to a 7-1 record in NECC
play.
