Blazers Can't Keep Up With Manhattanville

PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Elms lacrosse team suffered a 23-3 loss at Manhattanville on Saturday afternoon.

Manahattanville scored early in often in the first half. The Valiants took a 1-0 lead just 13 seconds in and scored the game's first 18 goals. Jackie Soucia scored on a free position shot with 2:27 left in the first half to put Elms on the board. Alecia Keesee and Vanessa Vurno added second-half goals for the Blazers. Vurno and Kaila Abrams also picked up assists in the game for Elms.

Carly Weiss led all scorers with six goals for the Valiants. Melissa O'Mara added five and Jenna Nance, Rosie DeBillis and Christina Leva added three each for Manhattanville.

Emily Huber finished with seven saves for Elms while Valiant goalkeeper Alex Breen has two. Manhattanville finished with a 36-6 advantage in shots, 19-9 lead in draw controls, and won the turnover battle 29-19.

Elms will resume non-conference action on March 20 when Sage visits Leary Field.
