CHICOPEE, MA, April 21, 2008 - Elms College senior midfielder Caitlin Childs (Hingham, MA) netted a game-high five goals, including a pair of key late goals to help spark the Blazers to a hard-fought 12-9 win over St. Joseph College (CT) in Monday night's non-conference women's lacrosse game at Leary Field.

Elms College won its second straight game and improved to 4-8 overall. St. Joseph lost its fourth straight and fell to 2-7.

With the Blazers holding a slim 10-7 lead midway through the second half, Childs tallied her collegiate career-high 34th and 35th goals of the year in a span of 4:40 to extend Elms College's lead to 12-7.

Although senior attack Rozz Sullivan (Simsbury, CT) and sophomore attack Cait Witham (Prospect, CT) scored consecutive goals to cut the deficit to 12-9, the Blue Jays never threatened in the game's final five minutes.

St. Joseph junior goalkeeper Kaylee Santuccio (Wethersfield, CT) and Elms College junior goalkeeper Alicia Bobbie (Higganum, CT) were outstanding between the pipes, as both made several sensational stops.

Bobbie finished with 18 saves, including 11 in the second half, while Santuccio stopped 12 shots.

Senior attacks Raemarie Josefiak (Springfield, MA) and Lauren O'Donnell (Hampden, MA) and freshman midfielder Jennifer Lough (Feeding Hills, MA) all tallied twice to bolster the Blazers' winning effort.

Freshman midfielder Caitlin Hogan (New Bedford, MA) and sophomore attack Joanna White (Granby, MA) netted three goals apiece for the Blue Jays, who trailed 8-3 at intermission.
