Childs, Josefiak Earn All-NEWLA Honors

CHILDS, JOSEFIAK EARN ALL-NEWLA HONORS

CHICOPEE, MA. May 1, 2008- The New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance (NEWLA) recently announced its post-season honors and two Elms College seniors, mid-fielder Caitlin Childs (Hingham, MA) and defender Raemarie Josefiak, (Springfield, MA) have been honored.

Childs was named as an All-Conference First-Team selection for a season in which she amassed 26 points in seven NEWLA contests. Childs netted 22 goals and added four assists in conference play.

Aside from her offensive production, Childs also caused 11 turnovers and recorded a team-high 19 ground balls in NEWLA play.

Josefiak earned All-Conference Second-Team honors after tallying 11 points on seven goals and four assists against NEWLA foes. In 2008, Josefiak forced six turnovers and recorded 12 ground balls.

NEWLA all-conference selections are determined by a vote of the conference coaches.
