WOMEN'S LACROSSE FALLS AT EMERSON, 13-6

BOSTON, MA, April 19, 2007 - Elms College junior attack Caitlin Childs (Hingham, MA) registered four goals, but Emerson College senior center Keri Angus (Coventry, RI) tallied five goals to help lead the Lions to a 13-6 victory over the Blazers in Thursday's New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance (NEWLA) game at Rotch Playground.  

With the loss, Elms College falls to 1-7 overall, 1-4 NEWLA, while Emerson improves to 5-6 overall, 2-4 NEWLA.

Childs scored her team leading 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th goals in the losing effort for the Blazers.

Senior attack Colleen Strunk (Stoneham, MA) and freshman defender Ashley Ziemba (Chicopee, MA) each tallied their third goals of the season.

Emerson lead 6-2 at halftime, before scoring seven more goals in the second half to pull away to the 13-6 victory.

Elms College sophomore netminder Alicia Bobbie (Higganum, CT) stopped 21 shots, while Emerson freshman goaltender Kelly Johnson (Birmingham, AL) turned away three shots.

The Blazers return to NEWLA action Saturday, April 21 when they host Norwich University. Game time is set for 11:30 a.m.
