Blazer Women's Hoops Picks Up 74-53 Win At Bay Path

LONGMEADOW, Mass. – The Elms College women's basketball team committed just seven turnovers and four Blazers scored in double-figures in a 74-53 win at Bay Path on Tuesday.

Reigning New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week Angelica Peguero-Flores (Springfield, Mass.) scored 22 points and added 13 rebounds and seven blocks for Elms. Senior Mackenzie Larochelle (Chicopee, Mass.) added 14 points, five rebounds and five assists. Freshman Regina LeBlanc (Enfield, Conn.) added 13 points and sophomore Molly Moulton (North Adams, Mass.) finished with 11 points for Elms.

The Blazers improve to 9-14 overall and 8-7 in the NECC with the win. Bay Path drops to 0-21 and 0-14 in the NECC.

Elms scored the game's first two points and never trailed. After Bay Path pulled within a point at 17-16, Elms used a 12-3 run to establish a double-digit lead. The Blazers built their lead to 20 at 45-25 mid-way through the third quarter and controlled the game from there.

Paige Marshall led Bay Path with 13 points and 13 rebounds off the bench, while Emmeline Bronson added 12 points.

Elms shot 38 percent from the field and held Bay Path to 31 percent. The Blazers held a 52-50 rebounding advantage and forced Bay Path into 19 turnovers while committing a season-low seven.

Elms will return home for its final two regular season games, hosting St. Joseph (CT) on Feb. 15 and Southern Vermont on Feb. 17.
