Softball Drops Opening Doubleheader of Florida Trip

Fort Myers, FL – The Elms College softball team lost the first two games of their Florida trip on Saturday afternoon. The Blazers fell to Albion College 18-3 in the first game, and 26-0 to North Central (ILL.) in the second game.

 

Game 1 -   Elms 3, Albion 18

The Blazers were only able to pick up two hits in game one, both off the bat of Tyla Risucci (Watertown, CT). Elms picked up three runs in the top of the third to tie things up at (3-3) Albion answered immediately, and did most their damage in the bottom of the third inning, plating 10 runs in the frame. The Britons added five more runs in the bottom of the fourth. That would be all the scoring in the five inning game.

 

 

Game 2  -  Elms 0, North Central (ILL.) 26

The Cardinals got off to a fast start, scoring 10 runs in the top of the first inning. They would go on to add six more in the second and the third, taking a commanding (22-0) lead. Elms would pick up two hits in the game, off the bats of Katelyn (Southwick, MA) and Kayla Beaulieu (Bristol, CT).
