#7 Men’s Volleyball Closes Out Regular Season With A Win

Chicopee, MA – The Elms College Men's Volleyball team was too much to handle for the visiting Lesley University Lynx. The Blazers won in straight sets (25-5, 25-5, 25-5).

Elms was dominant from start to finish in the match only allowing 5 points in each set. The Blazers had kills from 8 different players. Jake Johnson (Warwick, R.I.) led the way with 11, John Dunphy (Farmington, CT) and Carlos Mercado (Barranquitas, P.R.) combined for 35 assists and Jeremy Torres (Juncos, P.R.) and Jovanny Torres (Juncos, P.R.) combined for 22 digs.

The Blazers end their regular season with an impressive 27-4 record and smashed the single- season win total which was previously 20. The Blazers also reached new highs in the national rankings getting to #7 as well as the regional rankings which is currently #3.

The Blazers are back in action on Thursday when they host the NECC semi-finals. They will face the winner of the Newbury College -- Eastern Nazarene College match.
