Dudley, MA. - The Elms College men's volleyball team completed a perfect weekend defeating Nichols College and Dean College in a pair of 3-0 wins on Sunday afternoon in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) action at the Nichols Athletic Center.
Elms 3, Nichols 0
Today's contest marked the inaugural meeting between Elms College and Nichols College.
The Blazers won games one and two by identical 25-13 scores before capturing the third game 25-18. Sophomore Jovanny Torres led the Blazers with 11 kills while classmate Jeremy Torres notched nine. Senior John Dunphy and freshman Carlos Mercado combined for 40 assists for the Blazers.
Freshman Ray Wang led the Bison with eight kills while classmate Lance Law tallied seven.
Elms 3, Dean 0
The Blazers put on a dominate performance taking down Dean College in straight sets. Elms got off to a quick start taking the first set 25-6 and never looked back.
Audrye Alejandro had a big match with 7 kills, 2 assists and 10 digs. Antonio Delgado had 7 kills, 2 assists and 9 digs and Carlos Mercado pitched in with 14 assists and 5 service aces.
Jaern Brooks and John Kauffman led the way for Dean combining for 9 kills, 2 assists and 9 digs.
The Blazers are back in action Wednesday when they travel to Newbury College with a 7pm start time.
