Blazers Overpower Lesley In Straight-Set Win

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Elms College men's volleyball team was relentless in a 25-4, 25-3, 25-7 straight-set win at Lesley on Wednesday night in New England Collegiate Conference play.

The Blazers (17-6, 9-2 New England Collegiate Conference) extend their win-streak to four with the win, while Lesley drops to 0-11 overall and 0-6 in the NECC.

Elms hit .812 with 14 kills on 16 attempts while holding Lesley to -.200 to set the tone in the first set. The Blazer hitting cooled off, relatively, as Elms hit .467 in the second set, but the defense picked up the slack, holding Lesley to -.412 with one kill and eight errors on 17 swings. Elms hit .518 for the match.

Jake Johnson led the Elms charge with 11 kills and a .714 hitting percentage and Gabriel Levy hit 1.000 with five kills on five attempts. John Dunphy finished with 12 assists for the Blazers and Kahlil Peters added 11. Audrye Alejandro contributed a game-high 11 digs.

Alexander Genova had four of Lesley's five kills in the contest.

Elms wraps up the regular season at Newbury on Saturday before hosting an NECC semifinal on April 13.
