Blazers Take 3-1 Win At Eastern Nazarene

QUINCY, Mass. – The Elms College men's volleyball team picked up a 3-1 New England Collegiate Conference road victory at Eastern Nazarene College on Saturday, by scores of 25-9, 16-25, 25-10 and 25-18.

Jeremy and Jovanny Torres were both on fire offensively for the Blazers (15-6, 7-2 NECC). Jeremy (Juncos, P.R.) finished with 13 kills and one error while hitting .632 and Jovanny (Juncos, P.R.) added another 13 kills while hitting .500. Both added six digs and a block for Elms.

Setter Kahlil Peters (Hartford, Conn.) added a sneaky five kills on seven attempts, hitting .714, and picked up 17 assists, while John Dunphy (Farmington, Conn.) had a team-high 25 assists.

The Blazers hit .400 in the contest and held ENC to a .126 hitting percentage. Elms had an 11-3 advantage in total blocks and 42-33 lead in digs in the game.

Kenny Sorensen (Quincy, Mass.) finished with 18 kills for the Lions and James Hoopes (Lenexa, Kan.) added 10. Matthew Tyree (Lansdale, Pa.) collected 36 assists for ENC.

Elms will host Southern Vermont in the home-finale on April 3 before wrapping up the regular season at Lesley (April 4) and Newbury (April 7). The NECC tournament is April 13 and 14.
