Three School Records Fall At Springfield College Classic

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Elms College men's and women's track and field teams each turned in record-setting performances at the Springfield College Classic on Saturday as the Blazer men finished seventh out of nine teams while the Elms women finished eighth out of nine.

Don Cianciolo finished fifth in the men's 110m hurdles with a school-record time of 18.37, nabbing four points for the Blazers. The Elms men added five points after the all-freshman relay team of Connor Chung, Isaiah McKinley-Jones, Greg Metelus and Robert Jean Charles finished fourth in the 4x100m relay with a school-record time of 44.39.

Keeshaun King and Derek Waid also added fifth-place individual finishes for the Blazers. King took fifth in the long jump with a leap of 6.38m to pick up four points for Elms and Waid took fifth and four points in the 3000m with a time of 11:50.93.

Amanda Hall notched a school record on the women's side for Elms. Her toss of 10.13m in the shot put was a school-record and good for 11th place on Saturday. Keyonna Douglas finished with a personal-best time of 14.14 in the 100m dash, taking 16th place and Sharon Vielmetti had a PR of 34.30 in the 200m dash.

The Blazer men and women will head to the GNAC/NECC Championships on April 29 at Regis (Ma.).
