Track & Field Shines At Mount Holyoke Spring Fling

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Isaiah McKinley-Jones won the men's 400m to highlight an exciting Saturday for the Elms College men's and women's track and field teams at the Mount Holyoke Spring Fling.

McKinley-Jones won the 400m Dash in a school-record 51.60, beating out Austin Landress of Fitchburg State (51.68). In all, the Blazers broke six individual and three relay school records on Saturday. Joining McKinley-Jones with school records on the men's side were Don Cianciolo, who finished fifth in the 110m hurdles (18.61), DeAngelo Cousar, who took fifth in the 400m hurdles (1:04.13), and Theophilus Jones, whose toss of 10.05m in the shot put was good for seventh place.

The Blazer men also set school records in the 4x100 (Connor Chung, McKinley-Jones, Greg Metelus, Rob Jean Charles) with a third-place time of 44.45, and the 4x400 (Chung, Cousar, Pablo De La Guardia, McKinley-Jones) with a third-place time of 3:37.89.

Tyana Medina and Sam Wegiel broke school records for Elms on the women's side. Medina took ninth in the 400m hurdles (1:22.96) while Wegial finished ninth in the 100m hurdles (18.51).

The women's 4x400 relay team of Keara Moulton, Amanda Rotberg, Medina and Sarah Tatgenhorst also broke a program record with an eighth-place finish in 4:48.40. Tatgenhorst also picked up a fourth-place finish in the women's 800m (2:32.01) for the Blazer women.

The Elms men finished fifth out of 11 teams in the meet while the women took 10th out of 13 teams.

The Blazers will be back in action next weekend at the Springfield College Invitational on April 21.
