Men’s Soccer Comeback Bid Falls Short

Chicopee, MA – The Elms College men's soccer team lost a tight game 2-1 on Sunday afternoon to the visiting Norwich University Cadets on Leary Field. With the loss the Blazers fall to 1-6-2 on the season.

The two teams were evenly matched for the first 20 minutes with neither side getting a real scoring opportunity. Norwich was able to double their lead just three minutes later and take a 2-0 advantage into the half.

Elms would come out in the second half and continue to battle. The Blazers would have several opportunities to get on the board but could not capitalize. It took a perfect free kick from Alex Egan (Watertown, MA) in the 71st minute to get the Blazers on the board, and cut the deficit in half.

The home side would continue to apply pressure on the Norwich net, but would were unable to find the equalizer and suffer a 2-1 loss.

Eagan, Babba Jaden (Clarkston, GA) and Justin Szarjkowski (Westhampton, MA) would combine for 13 shots in the game. Julian Brosi (West Newbury, MA) made seven saves in goal.

Elms is back in action on Wednesday 10/2 when they host Curry College at 7:00PM on Leary Field.
