Men's Soccer Drops Regular-Season Finale At Dean

FRANKLIN, Mass. -- The Elms College men's soccer team wrapped up the regular season on Friday with a 3-2 loss at Dean College.

Dean grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first half after Zeki Zai scored goals in the 18th and 28th minutes. Danny Isaksen and Felipe Campos picked up assists along the way.

Kavan Henry cut into the deficit with a 39th minute strike and the Blazers went into halftime trailing 2-1.

The Bulldogs added to their lead in the 82nd minute when Campos scored off a pass from Kyle Lameiras.

Elms responded to cut the lead back down to just one goal in the 85th minute as Michael Lemke netted the second Blazer goal of the contest, assisted by Anthony Romei, but Dean was able to fight off the Blazers over the finals six minutes to hold on for the 3-2 win.

Elms edged the Bulldogs (5-12, 3-5 NECC) in shots 18-17, but Dean led in shots on goal, 8-5.

The Blazers will head into next week's New England Collegiate Conference tournament with a 5-12-1 record and a 4-3-1 mark in conference play. The NECC opening-round matchups will be announced over the weekend.
