Blazer Men Fight SVC To Draw

BENNINGTON, Vt. -- The scoreboard was the only thing that wasn't lit up on Saturday as the Elms College men's soccer team battled Southern Vermont to a scoreless draw.

The Blazers (4-9-1, 3-1-1 New England Collegiate Conference) played the final 33 minutes short-handed and the final 25 minutes down two men after Babba Jaden was shown a red card in the 77th minute and Shaquille Robinson earned the same fate in the 85th minute.

The game featured a total of 10 cards, including three yellows against the Mountaineers.

Elms held a 17-9 lead in shots and 8-6 edge in the corner kids in the game. Julian Brosi made four saves to preserve the shutout for Elms while SVC backup Tyler Mackie played 104 minutes and made six saves.

Elms will be without Jaden and Robinson when the Blazers host Mitchell on Oct. 16. Southern Vermont will return to play at Becker the same day.
