Men's Soccer Hangs With Eastern Connecticut Before Falling 1-0

CHICOPEE, Mass. – The Elms College men's soccer team hung with Eastern Connecticut State all evening long but dropped a 1-0 non-conference contest on Leary Field on Sunday night.

The Warriors (10-2-0) scored in the 83rd minute when Patrick Agyemang recorded his seventh goal of the season off an assist from Justin Jensen. ECSU out-shot Elms 25-11 in the contest and shots on-goal were even at seven apiece.

Babba Jaden had six shots for Elms, including four on-goal. Julian Brosi came up with six saves in net for the Blazers (4-8). Meanwhile, counterpart Ryan Murphy made seven saves in the shutout effort for the Warriors.

The Warriors held a 15-2 advantage in corner kicks in the game. Three yellow cards were shown, including one to ECSU's Nick Starkowski. Blazers Michael Lemke and Lancedale Peterkin were also cautioned.

Elms will be on the road next week with a non-conference game at Westfield State on Oct. 10 before returning to New England Collegiate Conference action at Southern Vermont on Oct. 13. ECSU will host UMass.-Boston in Little East Conference play on Oct. 10.a
