Blazer Golf Takes 3rd At MCLA Invitational

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The Elms College men's golf team notched a third-place finish at the MCLA Invitational on Thursday after posting a team score of 31-over par, 319 in the 18-hole tournament.

Elms finished behind only team champion Westfield State (309) and Roger Williams (314) in the 10-team field.

The Blazers were led by William Marchand who tied for fifth individually after shooting a 6-over 78. John Keegan and Matt King tied for 13th at 8-over, one stroke ahead of Frankie Murray, who shot 9-over. Josh Keaton tied for 39th at 22-over.

Eastern Nazarene's Michael Dietz took individual honors, posting the day's only sub-par round at 1-under, 71.

The Blazers have just one day off before beginning teeing off in the Middlebury College Tournament, Sept. 15-16.
