Late Goal Sinks Field Hockey
Chicopee, MA - The Elms College field hockey team lost a heartbreaker on Saturday afternoon to the visiting Gordon College Fighting Scotts 2-1. With the loss the Blazers fall to 2-7 on the season.
Elms got off to a great start, pressuring the Gordon cage throughout the quarter. The Blazers would open the scoring at the 10 minute mark when Elizabeth Collins (Enfield, CT) successfully chipped in a feed from Olivia Keane (Enfield, CT).
The Fighting Scotts would battle back and tie things up 49 seconds into the 2nd quarter. The game would stay tied for the next quarter and a half. With five minutes remaining in regulation Gordon would find the back of the Elms cage for the go-ahead-goal, and eventual game winner.
Elms is back in action on Thursday 10/3 when they host Westfield State University at 7:00PM.
