Blazers Topple Dean 11-0

FRANKLIN, Mass. – The Elms College field hockey team evened its New England Collegiate Conference record with an 11-0 win at Dean on Saturday behind three goals each from Olivia Keane and Madison Messier.

The Blazers improve to 5-10 overall and 2-2 in the NECC with the win while Dean drops to 1-8 on the season and 0-3 in league play.

Elms controlled the game throughout, finishing with a 27-1 advantage in total shots and 15-0 lead in penalty corners. Jeszenia McGuire got the Blazers on the board in the third minute and Elms built the advantage to 4-0 at the break with two goals from Messier and another from Keane.

The Blazers maintained control of the game in the second half, as Messier tallied her third goal of the game less than two minutes into the period, and Elms added six more in the final 16 minutes of the contest.

The Blazers resume NECC play against New England College on Oct. 20. Dean will play at Becker on Oct. 16.
