Field Hockey Falls To Vassar In First Round Of Vassar Tournament

FIELD HOCKEY FALLS TO VASSAR IN FIRST ROUND OF VASSAR TOURNAMENT

KINGSTON, NY, Sept. 8, 2007 - Elms College junior goalkeeper Katelyn Wasgatt (Worcester, MA) stopped nine shots, but Vassar College received a three-goal effort from senior midfielder Katherine Simon (Waukesha, WI) to post a 7-0 shutout non-conference field hockey win over the Blazers in Saturday's first round of the Vassar Tournament at Dietz Stadium.

With the loss, Elms College fell to 0-2 and will play in Sunday's 10:00 a.m. consolation game against MIT, which fell to Kings College 5-1 in Saturday's other first round game.
