Blazers Battle But Come Up Short At Amherst

Amherst, MA – The Elms College Baseball team battled hard but came up short at Amherst College on Wednesday afternoon 5-1 in non-conference action

The Mammoths took a 1-0 lead in the second inning and led 2-1 from the top of the fifth until the bottom of the eighth, when they tacked on three more runs to push their lead to 5-1.

The Blazers strung together two hits and took a walk to load the bases in the top of the eighth, but were unable to capitalize.

Josh Nohilly (Bristol, CT) and Josh Berthiaume (Pittsfield, MA) had two hits apiece on the day.

Zach Horwitz would get the win for the Mammoths, Cody Fisher would take the loss for the Blazers.

Elms heads to play against Lesley at Clark University on Saturday at 3:00 and 6:00 PM in NECC action.
