Baseball Drops Road Game At Union

AMSTERDAM, N.Y. -- The Elms College Baseball team suffered a setback on the road at Union College on Tuesday Night 13-1.

Elms would score the first run of the game, taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a Josh Berthiaum (Pittsfield, MA) grounded out to 2nd base that pushed Alex Hoss Stafford Springs, CT)  across the plate. The Blazers' lead would last until the fourth inning when the Dutchmen would tie things up on a solo home run over the left field wall.

Brandon Bennett (Easthampton, MA) had the Union bats under control until the fifth inning. The Dutchmen would open things up with seven runs in the frame and would add another four in the bottom of the sixth.

That would be enough for Union and they would go on to win 13-1.

Tommy Scherrer would get the win for the Dutchmen, Bennett takes the loss for the Blazers.

Elms is back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Amherst College with a 3:30 p.m. first pitch.
