Defiance would jump out with a 7 run top of the 1st which would prove to be too much for the Blazers to come back from. Elms would battle back platting 3 runs in the bottom of the frame when Thomas Slain (Tolland, CT.) singled in Josh Pasini (Enfield, CT.) and Alex Hoss (Stafford Springs, CT.). Cam Griffin (West Springfield, MA.) would also score on a wild pitch. The Blazers would put up another 3 spot in the 3rd when  Slane doubled in Griffin, Josh Berthiaum (Pittsfield, MA.) would then single scoring Slane from second. After a couple of walks Austin Roy (Cromwell, CT.) delivered a base knock that would score Kevin Banas (Hatfield, MA.) from 3rd.

That would be as close as the Blazers would get dropping game 1, 12-8
