BASEBALL SWEEPS DOUBLEHEADER WITH NEWBURY

ORLANDO, FL. March 10, 2008 - Elms College sophomore shortstop Justin Jacobs (Springhill, FL) had four hits and recorded six RBI in two games to lead the Blazers to a sweep over Newbury with 11-6 and 11-0 victories in Monday morning's non-conference doubleheader held as part of the Disney Invitational in Orlando, Florida.

The sweep gives Elms College a record of 2-0 on the season.

The Blazers scored 11 runs on nine hits to help sophomore pitcher Dan Ingraham (Granby, MA) earn his first win of the season in game one.  Ingraham limited Newbury to six runs on just four hits to post the victory.

Jacobs finished game one 2 for 4 with two runs scored.  Senior first baseman Scott Netkovick (South Hadley, MA) went 1 for 4 including a 2 RBI triple.
